Title: Papal Altar

Based upon the ancient hymn Sancta Vinete this inscription
panel was modelled upon the uncial manuscripts. It was an
unusual layout, the first line being the longest called for
the ingenious device of using linear spacers to give the illusion
of a module to give equal line length. The character of raised
the letters was a conscious format to accommodate the inevitable
use of telephoto lenses to record the historical event of
the Pope saying mass at the altar.
