The Chasing Chisel
When a sculpture is cast in bronze there are usually a number
of imperfections on the surface which result directly from
the lost wax process. These are the remains of core-holds,
runners and risers, and fins. the chasing chisels, shaped
to many profiles, pare the malleable metal to bring the surface
to an even texture ready for polishing and patination.
