An undercurrent to the design of the letters in Roman and
Gaelic form is to relate to the gate lodges often made of
cut stone at the entrances to seats of learning which immediately
convey a feeling of permanence. Thus relating to the architectural
design of the kiosk these square edge incised letters have
a resonance of statement and longevity.
